PROJECT CASE STUDY

Eastwick Row, Hemel Hempstead

PPP were involved from Stage 1 and helped the Council pilot the scheme through Planning including challenges around flood risk. Requirements for dealing with the flood risk were particularly onerous and could have jeopardised the scheme entirely. We worked closely with the design team to explore what aspects could be addressed and costed several different solutions to find an acceptable one for the Council.

We also met local councillors and addressed feedback from residents over parking and the constrained parking. We worked with the team to produce a design for a temporary haul road to remove site traffic from the local roads.

Unfortunately, the original contractor went into administration, so we worked with DBC to identify an alternative. We coordinated the validation of the in situ concrete frame, completed by others and ensured a suitable performance bond was in place with the new contractor.
