This flagship retirement village project has been constructed on the site of an existing occupied retirement village that had become outdated. The project, which is based upon a vision for new retirement villages of the future, was required to be carried out in phases to cater for retaining the existing residents on site, and to overcome infrastructure constraints resulting from a steeply sloping terrain. An interesting feature of the scheme is the ability for electric scooters to be able to travel anywhere on the site both internally to all floor levels and externally.
The contract was negotiated under a Partnering arrangement utilising a hybrid JCT D&B Contract.
